(See the Chancellor's latest update here. ) 1) As long as the campuses are closed, the brick and mortar libraries are also closed. This means that should not come to campus to return any materials that you have checked out, even if they are overdue. We will be accepting returns when the campuses open again. There will not be any fees charged for overdue items unless they are lost. 2) HOWEVER, the online resources are available, as always. You can access the Library Databases through MyNCTC at https://my.nctc.edu/ 3) Librarians are answering "Ask a Librarian" inquiries as well as checking emails regularly. We are working from home, continuing to bring you the very best library services that our online resources have to offer...which is a lot, including eBooks! We are online to help with other questions such as citation help and general research problems. Remember: the only dumb question is the unasked question. Access Current Podcast Frequently Asked Questions How do I get to a Database off-campus? What's the password? add To get to the databases off-campus, you must go through the MyNCTC portal at MyNCTC . Login to MyNCTC with your NetID (SmithJ123456) and Student ID (123000456 or 123456). On the left-hand side of the screen is a link for "Library Services." Click this link. On the left-hand side of the screen is a link for "Library Databases." Click this link. On the Library Databases screen, the username and the password for the databases is listed on the right-hand side of the screen. Make note of the username and password. Click on the link for the database you need. Enter the username and password you saw on the Library Databases screen. Conduct your research. You can also view this video for step-by-step instructions on accessing the databases. How many items may I check out? add Students may check out up to 10 items, one of which being a media item (DVD). Community users may check out up to 3 items, one of which being a media item (DVD). How long may I keep items out? add Students may keep books out for 3 weeks during the long semesters (Spring and Fall) and for 1 week during the short semesters (Summer and Mini-mesters). Community users may keep books out for 3 weeks year round. Circulating media items (DVDs) may be checked out 7 days by all users. Reserve items may be checked out by students for the period designated by the instructor. For most materials, this is 2 hours in-library use. What do I need to check out? add You need your NCTC student ID card. This is obtained from the Business Office on your campus.
